[ Karkat sits on one of the picnic tables outside of the Lodge, hood of his jacket over his head. He looks much like he doesn't want to be here. Anyone assuming so would pretty much be right. He's got headphones in, and music up.]

[ 'sup, there's somebody else who looks like they don't wanna be there taking a seat next to him. Some pink-skinned chick in a lab coat, pulling out an issue of "SCIENCE~" and leafing through it.

[ Karkat looks over, eventually, at the young lady in the lab coat. Who the hell this chick is, he has no fucking idea.

He takes note of what she's reading, though, and scrunches his nose up. ]

Who the hell are you?

[ She glances over. She honestly thought he wouldn't talk to her, which is why she sat next to him. WELP SO MUCH FOR THAT. Time for... royal decorum and all of that jazz.

She lowers her magazine for a second to give him a smile, though it's pretty short-lived. ] Princess Bubblegum. [ She is wearing a crown. ] A pleasure, I'm sure.

[ Sorry, she's usually a bit more sociable. This isn't the best time for her. ]

... Princess Bubblegum? What kind of shitty name is that?

[ Meet Karkat, Princess. He has no filter, and is only quiet when he's alone in public areas. He tends to talk to himself when he's completely alone, though. ]

"Princess" is my title, not my name. It's a hereditary rank in most systems of nobility that refers to the female child of a monarch, sometimes with connotations of heirship.

I know what a princess is, moron, that doesn't make it sound any less stupid.

It's a very traditional name in my kingdom.
