TEST DRIVE MEME

[ 1. ] Comment with a character you'd like to test out in the game's setting. Put their name and series in the title! Camp position optional. [ 2. ] Oh no! The power is out all across camp due to a nasty storm, and everyone's been brought to the lodge for safe keeping! There are candles, flashlights, lanterns, and the gas powered stove, but not much else besides one another. [ 3. ] Tag around with one another! Figure out preexisting CR for characters returning to camp, and get an idea of what new CR you could get! [ 4. ] App all those characters. You can use your threads from this for one of your samples! [ 5. ] Have fun!

Theoretically speaking at least. I've made less complicated things with just a toothbrush and some data anyway.

[He's not entirely sure if it'll work yet. When Finn looks at the computer, he'll see a bunch of code on the screen. It'd be jibberish to someone who didn't understand.]

[He held one hand up to lightly steady the boxes, but thankfully it seemed like she had the hang of it.]

[Yeah Finn can't- ...make sense of that at all. But he IS very impressed, regardless.]

My name's Randall Ascot! I'm one of the junior counselors here-- it's my job to help the Confusion Counselor. [And he apparently looked pretty proud of that position!]

I was just seeing if someone knew where a few more flashlights are, is all. [Buuut, judging by that tone of voice, it didn't seem very important at the moment.] But it's nice to meet you, Mr. Picard! Have you settled in alright?

[He'd been a bit busy running around helping up until now, because apparently he hadn't noticed that

yeah it's kind of boring in here.]

Er... well, I'm sure the storm will let up soon! [doubtful] There must be something around here to tide you over in the mean time.

[He pauses for a moment, before sighing.]

..I'm just not that into...books or...board games- ...n'stuff like that. ...an' you can only tell stories for so long.

[He chuckles a little, leaning back.]

I guess I just like to go outside n' do stuff too much.

I'm sure he'd love t' hear, if y' got any good ones.

[Yep- Finn's making a mental note right now to head off to the TV room next.]

[He looks a little stunned at the wording but he gives Finn an appreciative smile.]

Ah, thank you. I've never had anyone refer to any of my ideas as 'cool' before.

Wow, really? ...Well I think it's really cool.

[Hope you don't mind, but Finn's going to sit down in a beanbag chair nearby so he can see the computer better.]

Well- ...any luck with the program so far?

Usually the reporters tend to be a bit more eloquent.

[Ken pauses for a moment, tapping his fingers against the keyboard as he continues while his laptop still has battery life.]

The algorithm still needs tweaking but in theory it should be applicable to anyone that can astral project.

[He tilts his head a little, blinking.]

..Gosh. ...yaknow you sound a lot like Gumball and Peebs. ...I think you three would get along.

[ Twilight was a new addition to the staff this year. Well, she was technically there to keep an eye on the camp - to determine if it was producing comparatively better results than other methods, to do firsthand research on the camp's effectiveness in training the campers, and, more importantly, helping them adjust to their lives as psychics and future as psychonauts. She was an evaluator sent by the psychonauts, in other words. But she liked to help out the other psychonauts and counselors when she could. The campers themselves didn't know of her true purpose, only that she was the psychonaut who sometimes helped out the others with their lessons and, in cases when they weren't available, take over their lessons for a day.

And so she did her best to help out. In this case, she was expertly levitating a checklist in front of her, a pen to check off campers on said list when she confirmed their presence, and off to the side a book entitled "Emergency Protocols for Camp Counselors" (third edition, and signed by the author.)

She didn't really know what else to do in this situation, or worse, how to comfort a crying child, so she was trying to brush up on what she should be doing. So don't mind her if she seems a bit distracted as she walks by and checks off somebody's name. ]

Hah, you're not the only one! Before the downpour started, I was out by the lake trying to identify some of the footprints that had showed up last night.

Didn't quite figure out what they were actually. [It was probably a seagull's, let's be honest.]

Storms can be just as exciting too though! It's just a shame they don't let us out during them. Who knows what sort of things might appear during a torrent like this?!

[Arya's still polishing her sword, but Nymeria's rolling about in her sleep. The wolf stirs and opens her eyes, slowly getting up to a sitting position. Nymeria turns her head to stare at the teenager, then back at Arya, nudging her softly in the upper arm. The direwolf then turns back to look at the boy again.

Arya, to put it simply, doesn't like people staring at her. She knows she looks like a boy sometimes. She doesn't need people pointing it out all the time. What would they like, a medal for their intelligence?]

What're you staring at me for?

Yeah, no kiddin'!..

[He tilts his head when he mentions footprints, immediately curious.]

Footprints huh...? I guess with it rainin' like it is they'll be gone before you can go back n'see what they were..

Then it's good that we've met, Mr. Ascot, as it looks like we'll be working together. [It's not sarcastic, just polite.]

[He glances around his half set up space.] I'm afraid you've caught me before I've found my way around, but if you need assistance, I have the time. [He stands up from behind his desk.] Are you helping the Confusion Counselor now?

[hypercompetent]

[Stiles' brows go up. He likes Arya--from what he's gotten to see, she's spunky and determined and reminds him a lot of a couple of friends from home. Grinning, he offers her his fist for a fist bump.]

I'm pretty sure that won't work, that whole corporeal thing really puts a damper on it. But if you wanna learn, I'm your man. This is like the one thing I'm good at, and I bet you'll be awesome at it too.

[ Some people are just sweethearts. ]

[ He accepted the mug gratefully, smiling as he smelled delicious hot cocoa. Yum. It was much appreciated; when is cocoa not appreciated, really? ]

How are you holding up? [ It's actually a little amazing how well Sandy can sign with one hand. ]

Most likely. [Hmph. And he certainly doesn't sound too happy about that.]

You know, there was a storm like this a few years ago when I was in the middle of digging up something around the GPC. That time though, I decided to sneak out in the middle of the rain to keep looking. Though I got in quite a bit of trouble for it...

[ Sandy nodded an affirmative. He scratched a drawing of himself with an empty talk bubble talking to another person, the tails of the bubbles leading to their brains. I teach telepathy!

He pointed at his mouth and then shook his head. I can't talk, though. Better he knows now so it doesn't lead to awkwardness later. ]

[Amazingly he doesn't even think it could be taken as harsh; he looks quite happy!]

Not at the moment, no. There's not much for us specifically to do in this sort of events, so I'm just helping to look after the campers. [Honestly it was much less exciting than it sounded, in his honest opinion.]

But if you need any help now or someone to show you around, I'd be glad to help!

[She saw the power outage coming so she made her way to the lodge early. Now she's just sitting in a giant comfy chair with her legs hung over the side and her eyes closed. What else is there to do?]

Yikes. Yeaah I guess it's not worth gettin' in trouble over..

...but dang, It would have been cool to figure out what made those footprints. S'like a- mystery or somethin'!
