TEST DRIVE MEME

[ 1. ] Comment with a character you'd like to test out in the game's setting. Put their name and series in the title! Camp position optional. [ 2. ] Oh no! The power is out all across camp due to a nasty storm, and everyone's been brought to the lodge for safe keeping! There are candles, flashlights, lanterns, and the gas powered stove, but not much else besides one another. [ 3. ] Tag around with one another! Figure out preexisting CR for characters returning to camp, and get an idea of what new CR you could get! [ 4. ] App all those characters. You can use your threads from this for one of your samples! [ 5. ] Have fun!

[Jack tilts his head when he hears her whistle, Baby Tooth fluttering her wings before she trills a melody in reply. It's too dark for her to leave her perch, but her song reaches Tooth easily. Jack shifts in his seat, sitting up a little.]

Taking a breather?

[ Smile growing as her little bird counterpart answers back, she pushes away from the doorway and comes into the room proper. Navigating other campers, she drops into a spot next to Jack smoothly. ]

Before another person tells me I should sit down before the power comes back on.

[Baby Tooth ruffles her feathers, chirping as she begins a new song. It's mostly to help the younger campers sleep, really, but it's a little help at least. Whoever said Pyro Cats were only interested in causing trouble was wrong. He gives her a smile, drawing a knee up and draping his arms over it, curling his upper body against it.]

Well it wouldn't hurt. I think everyone's settled now thanks to you.

Not just me. Everyone's been pretty hard at work, even our Pyro Cats.

[ She's not oblivious to what Baby Tooth is doing. Bringing her own knees up, Tooth wraps her arms around them and becomes even smaller, chin propped on them. Her eyes close, and she exhales with a bit of relief. Even she needs to stop for a bit. ]

[Whoops, caught. His smile turns sheepish as he runs a hand through his hair, scratching the back of his neck as he glanced away for a moment.]

That obvious, huh?

I don't think anyone else has made the realization yet.

[ She tips, bumping her shoulder into him before straightening again. It's not just him, she saw both Jake and Marshall helping in some way. Which is always nice. ]

[It's kind of nice being this close without her having to go off fluttering around camp on junior counselor duties. Times when they could just hang out with nothing to do seem so long ago.]

Okay, good. I have a reputation to keep.

Your secret is safe with me, Jack.

[ There are moments where she feels a little guilty for her constant busyness, especially when there are moments like this where they can actually sit together like this. It leaves her slipping a little Bengali in. ]

Have you been in here the whole time?

Excellent. Bunny wouldn't believe it anyway.

[He gives a small shrug at the question, tilting his head in consideration. He'd tried helping out but he was either rebutted or there wasn't anything to do.

I played some games with the younger campers earlier but there wasn't really anything I could help with.

[ Rather than point out that, actually, that'd be a pretty believable story to Bunny, Tooth stretches her arms out over her knees and laces her fingers together. A thoughtful little hum escapes her, and she tilts her head to him. ]

That's a lot of help, though. Making sure they weren't afraid by having fun with them.

[He lets himself smile at that, hand rubbing his neck before he lets it drop to drape around his knee again.]

It seems to work with Emma at home during storms, so I'm just glad that it works with the other kids here. Too many of them seem to be trying to be tough.

Not surprising. [ She'd been that way at the beginning of her first summer, after all. ] They're away from home, and have all these people around them.

Gotta be tough, no matter what. But it's nice, to help them realize thing's are gonna be okay.

[He probably would've done the same thing back then, but he's since learned that nobody really cared if you were scared or not. A small memory of being lost in a blizzard on one of the highest peaks in the world comes to mind, keeping himself alive by making a game out of it until he was found. He shivered a little and curled his arms around himself.]
