TEST DRIVE MEME

The power is out all across camp due to a nasty storm, and everyone's been brought to the lodge for safe keeping! There are candles, flashlights, lanterns, and the gas powered stove, but not much else besides one another. [ 3. ] Tag around with one another! Figure out preexisting CR for characters returning to camp, and get an idea of what new CR you could get! [ 4. ] App all those characters. You can use your threads from this for one of your samples! [ 5. ] Have fun!

[Sitting around in the cabin for so many hours was starting to drive Stiles stir crazy, and after talking to his mom, he'd gotten up to make rounds around the cabin. He was a junior counselor for some reason, blessed with ~responsibility~ and as such, it totally gave him an excuse to get all up in everyone's business.

In his third summer, Stiles hadn't met this girl yet, and he can't help the--]

Ho-ly God, that's a lot of hair. [that comes out of his mouth.]

[ Rapunzel looked up at the exclamation, foolishly looking around to make sure he was talking to her. Well, duh. Who else would he be talking to? ]

It's- well, it's at about 60 feet last I checked! It, kind of, grows really quickly...

[ She gave an embarrassed half-smile while pulling at her hair nervously. ]

Dude, I can't imagine how expensive it is for you to get a haircut.

[It's kind of a stupid comment, and Stiles squats down, resting his elbows on his knees. She's really cute, even if she's got actual mountains of hair. Kind of reminds him of Allison--they both have this disney princess look about them. what is the fourth wall]

You've gotta be new here, I'm pretty sure I'd remember this. I'm Stiles, I'm kinda like the de facto head of the Mediumship badge. For now. [...ish.]

Stiles. Nice to meet you! I'm Rapunzel, and yeah, I'm definitely new. I've sort of realized I'm a little old to start, but my Mother's a little protective, so...

[ She awkwardly shrugged. ]

Mediumship... what is that again? Sorry, I'm, like, really new to this. All I knew before I came here is that my hair is really weird and I can make shields.

Rapunzel, that's a new one. [But okay, easy to remember. And it's not like he can really talk, seeing as how his first name is none of your buisness Stiles.] Don't even worry about it man, this is only myyy third year here? And I'm sixteen. Some of us are just late bloomers.

[Honest to god, he kind of relishes in explaining mediumship to people.]

It's the Sixth Sense! The Patrick Swayze! [Stiles wiggles his fingers, putting on a stupid voice.] The ability to see ~ghosts~. And communicate with them, and the like. It's one of the badges you can earn after you get your Basic Braining down.

[ She tried to remember where she'd heard the name Patrick Swayze before, and had no idea what a "sixth sense" was. ]

Oh, isn't that guy from that Dirty Dancing movie? I saw that one!

[ Rapunzel then realized exactly what Stiles just said. ]

Wait, ghosts? Why would you want to talk to a ghost? Don't they just scare people and haunt old buildings?

[He grins!!] Yes, that one! 'cept, less tight pants and dancing and more hauntings and ghost makeouts.

[Earnin' yourself some points, Punzie. Stiles rolls his eyes, used to this speech.] I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't haunt any old buildings besides the police station, that place is like seriously in need of a renovation. Not all of the ghosts are bad--if you get to know some of the ones around camp, they're pretty friendly. And they've always got good information, if you talk to them enough.

[leftmytower]

[ Rapunzel's hands fly to her mouth. ]

Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't know about-- about your mom.

[ He doesn't seem too sad about it at least? How does he seem so cool about it? It must not have been recent, she guesses. Did he really just roll his eyes even? He's like a cartoon character. ]

I guess Mediumship actually seems like a really useful thing to be able to do, then. A lot less scary than Scooby-Doo makes it seem. So, you've, like, actually talked to your mom...?

[hypercompetent]

's okay. [Her concern is sweet, really, and there is a part of him that misses him mom achingly; it's like a quiet, neverending ache in the back of his head. But with her around, things got a lot easier, and he glances over his shoulder for a moment and smiles, nodding his head in a little gesture--she's right there.]

Like all the time. She's usually here with me at camp if she's not with my dad. And some of the ghosts like to like, pull pranks and stuff, but then again so do the campers. [He grins a little mischievously at that.]

Conveniently, there are only 51 animated Disney movies in Rapunzel's world

[ Her green eyes looked briefly over his shoulder toward where he nodded, feeling her lips tug into a smile. Wow, Mufasa wasn't kidding when he said "watching over us." ]

That's really sweet. I wonder if--

[ Never mind, forget it. She looks back at Stiles. ]

But people really do pranks at camp, like in the movies? I mean, that seems kind of stupid though. Couldn't the campers get kicked out or something? Or get in trouble?

Dude, even the junior counselors do them sometimes. [His smile takes on a mischevious twist, and he rests his hands on his ankles, leaning forward conspiratorially.]

It's kind of a camp tradition. Sasha and the others usually just roll their eyes at it. The Pyro Cats are the ones who are the most famous for it--you have to watch out for them if you get on their bad side.

[And then he laughs.] But somehow I'm seriously doubting that'll be a problem with you.

[ Rapunzel blinked. The idea of an authority figure contributing to problems was a little hard to comprehend for her.

Who was she supposed to listen to then? But Stiles seemed so... nice! It must be really harmless things, right? He'd never do anything bad. ]

Pyro... Cats? [ What an odd name. ]

How many of them are there? What do they do? Like... toilet paper trees and houses- I mean cabins?

Pyro Cats, Sharpshooting Bucks--that's where I live--Psionic Grizzlies, All Seeing Squirrels, Haunted Lungfish, aaand Astral Snakes. You really are new to this, huh. [He ticks them off on his fingers, a little curious. It's not so often that someone comes in here who has literally never heard of anything.

...Interesting. Stiles is going to have to add her to his files.]

The Pyro Cats? Right now there's...five, I think? Maybe six. They're pretty cool guys, just. You have to be creative to keep up with them. [...] More creative than that.

[Oh she's really cute.]

Right, those goofy cabin names! They were in the info packet, I remember now. [ Whoever was in charge of those had way too much fun. ]

And yes, I'm new. I'm basically going by the summer camp movies I've seen. I don't want to get in trouble with people like you and your Pyro Cats anyway, so I'll stick with "boring" toilet paper.

Aw come on, I'm not gonna get you in trouble. [He smiles, waving a hand like he's waving her frustration off. Dude, she's like a little puffed up kitten.]

Besides, you look like a well-behaved girl! Not getting into any--[brow wiggle.] mischief. I'm sure you won't have any problems.

[And then he adds, a little wryly.] You'll probably have 'em wrapped around your finger in two seconds. Er. Wrapped around your hair.

[ She rolled her eyes a little, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. ]

I hope not, I can't afford to get into any trouble.

And getting those Pyro Cats tangled in my hair does not sound like a way to avoid that. Unless it was to get them to leave me out of whatever it is they plan on doing.
