TEST DRIVE MEME |
[ 1. ] Comment with a character you'd like to test out in the game's setting. Put their name and series in the title! Camp position optional. [ 2. ] Oh no! The power is out all across camp due to a nasty storm, and everyone's been brought to the lodge for safe keeping! There are candles, flashlights, lanterns, and the gas powered stove, but not much else besides one another. [ 3. ] Tag around with one another! Figure out preexisting CR for characters returning to camp, and get an idea of what new CR you could get! [ 4. ] App all those characters. You can use your threads from this for one of your samples! [ 5. ] Have fun! |

Nymeria, stay.
[When it's clear that finally, the wolf is listening to her commands, she begins to creep quietly, quietly towards Stiles. Come on, Arya, she thinks, remember your dancing lessons. Swift as a deer. Quiet as a shadow. Slowly, she approaches Stiles...
...and places two hands on his shoulders.]

That's going to be easy to achieve, because the minute she grabs onto him, Stiles jumps about a foot in the air.]
Jesus-- [And promptly tries to rearrange his limbs into what appears to be some form of turning around.] --Christ, do you have to do that?!
no subject
Nymeria, to me.
[When Nymeria's finally bounded over there, Arya sits down unceremoniously next to Stiles.]
Who're you talking with?
no subject
....My mom. Some people call home once a week, I slide into the plane of mediumship and psychically communicate with her.
no subject
...I want to do that, too.
[Tentatively, she asks:]
Is it hard?
no subject
Yeah. [but then] It's hard at first, and it's really, really weird. But if you practice, and I guess, more than anything, if you go along with the strength of your own will and all that, you'll get the hang of it. After that it's just avoiding the bored ones that want to pull pranks on you and finding the people you want to talk to most.
[Stiles' mouth slides into a grin.] I'm one of the junior counselors for it.

I want to try for that badge this summer, then. I've decided. I promise I'll work hard at it, and if any ghosts try to bother me, I'll just slash them away with my sword.
[She's got this all figured out, of course.]

I'm pretty sure that won't work, that whole corporeal thing really puts a damper on it. But if you wanna learn, I'm your man. This is like the one thing I'm good at, and I bet you'll be awesome at it too.

You were debating before we left. Did you decide on which badge you were going to try to get next, sweetheart?
MOM TAGS
...pyrokinesis, maybe. It's the only one I can't frickin' get. Plus there's something about accidentally setting Raz's hair on fire that's really satisfying. [He huffs.]

[ There's a knowing twist to her smile, but it's for more than how he delights in his odd relationship with the pyrokinesis counselor. Right off the bat, it'd been interesting.
But she knows just why it's the one he "can't frickin' get," whether he does our not, himself. ]
snow you always know how to break me into pieces
No idea what you're talking about, mom. [The grin fades after a few minutes, though, and he sighs, lacing his fingers together and resting them across his knees.] I just...I don't know. Maybe in a past life I was a firefighter so I can't set fires because it hurts a very part of my actual soul or something.
almost four months of practice
But she lets her expression soften again, and she reaches to brush her fingers over his. Touch takes concentration, energy, but it's always worth it with her baby. Close, Stiles. ]
You'll find the spark you need for it. I know you will.
four months of feels
[Getting touched by most of the other ghosts around the camp generally gives Stiles the shivers, but his mom is different. It's not cold, it's familiar and warm and it makes his stomach churn and his heart seize up at the same time. It'll never be the same as having a bad day and having her hug him, but even a little bit is better than nothing, and he curls his fingers gently where hers were.]
Maybe in like ten years. Twenty years. When I'm old and gray and dead then I'll be able to set things on fire. [He sighs and gives his mom a sheepish smile. At least it's comforting, and he's just grousing.]
...thanks, mom.
so much heart pain.
She leans forward, concentrating a second time to brush her lips across his forehead. Even at sixteen, he'll never stop being mama's little boy. ]
Your mom's always gonna be your number one cheerleader, sweetie.
and agony
Yeah, too bad no one else can hear it. [It's just a joke, though, and he chuckles, lifting his head.] Maybe this year'll be it.
...And marksmanship. Eventually. [mental wince]

[Of course he's going and sitting by the one person that's being quiet and off in a dark corner, just watching, quietly. It's one thing to spend a lot of your childhood with people thinking you must be haunted or possessed when it's just you, and another to actually watch someone talking to ghosts.]
[Aaaaand he's not going to peep until Stiles notices him.]
